Location Versioning

We’re excited to introduce a groundbreaking update to Connex, that brings and essential dimension to your project management toolkit: version control for models and drawing within the location structure.

Simply upload a new version with the same name of a model or drawing, and Connex groups the versions, ensuring that the latest version takes precedence while retaining the accessibility of earlier versions throughout Connex.

Connex Release 2023.6 | 23rd of November 2023

Connex Desktop Viewer

  • To support bigger and more complex models, you can now download Connex in the Microsoft Store. The desktop application version of Connex will include a stronger viewer, which will give you better performance when viewing heavy BIM models or large federated models. The desktop version will also include lots of features for you to inspect the model including making cuts, annotations, laser measurements and much more.

Location Versioning

  • You now have the possibility to versioning models and drawings in the location structure in Connex. When uploading a new version, it needs to have the same name as the existing version, and then Connex will group the model/drawing, and make the latest version the one being shown. Earlier versions can still be opened and are still related to pinned tasks and registrations.

  • Uploading a new version of a model that is part of a federated model will generate a new federated model with the latest version of each model.

  • Tasks and registrations will contain information about which version of a drawing or model is being used for the location.
